DUTY COLLECT

For merchants who wish to “outsource” duty and tax collection.

Via our payment portal, www.secureimport.com, SkyPostal solves the challenges surrounding the collection of import taxes and duties on cross-border shipments. By outsourcing this component of the international transaction, merchants and shippers can be assured that their customers are well informed of the duties and taxes required on their items, and that any moneys due are paid in advance in a secure and convenient manner,  before the package ever leaves the US.

The Secure Import solution eliminates parcel abandonment at destination and provides full transparency to the shopper, thus ensuring a better user experience. 

HOW IT WORKS

1. Checkout
Buyer pays for merchandise and shipping costs to final destination. • Duties and Taxes are estimated and displayed to shopper via our Duties Calculator at checkout.
Step 2: Order Fulfillment
Packages are held for shipment pending collection of duties and taxes to Secure Import.
Step 3: Duty Payment
Secure Import communicates with shopper via email and directs them to a secure payment portal to pay duties and taxes on goods purchased.
Step 4: Payment Options
Clients pay in Local Currency (where available) or Credit Card for Duties and Taxes.
Step 5: Release of Order
When payment is finalized, SkyPostal advises the seller/shipper to release goods for transport. If payment is not finalized, order will be cancelled.
Step 6: Fulfillment
Order is delivered to SkyPostal facility in Miami for international transport or directly to destination country.
Step 7: Clearance
All SkyPostal shipments are electronically pre-cleared prior to arrival at destination.
Step 8: Delivery
Once in country, shipments are sent out for delivery by SkyPostal delivery network.

DELIVERED DUTIES PAID (DDP)

For merchants who wish to bill their cross-border clients a fully landed cost.

Many cross-border sellers are opting to offer their international clients a fully landed cost, meaning an all-inclusive rate including merchandise cost, transport costs and import duties and taxes.  Landed cost pricing provides a fully transparent experience for the shopper and eliminates the “sticker shock” of additional fees related to customs charges once in country.

Sellers can integrate with our Duties Calculator to calculate the shipping costs and the duties and taxes due from the customer at checkout.

Sellers/shippers will pay SkyPostal for all duties and taxes prior to shipment. SkyPostal will automatically clear and subsequently deliver packages once in country ensuring a seamless process, completely transparent to the shopper. 

HOW IT WORKS

Step 2: Order Fulfillment
Order is fulfilled and sent to SkyPostal for processing or direct to destination country.
Step 3: Clearance
All SkyPostal shipments are electronically pre-cleared prior to arrival at destination.
Step 4: Payment of Duties and Taxes
SkyPostal will pay all duties and taxes in country. Seller/Shipper is required to maintain a deposit account with SkyPostal for duties.
Step 5: Out for Delivery
Once cleared shipments are sent out for delivery
